About Hurricane & Storm Tracking
About this site
Terrapin hurricane tracking provides up-to-date information about storms and hurricanes in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It also includes data files and plots of current-year storms.
This site is intended to make current tropical cyclone information easy to view while preserving a useful archive of storms from the current year for comparison, research, and reference.
How the site works
The StormTrack system receives weather data from the National Weather Wire Service, available through the National Weather Service. The site creates an entry for each tropical depression, tropical storm, or hurricane when advisories are issued.
The site is updated hourly. During active hurricane season, storm entries, advisory text, and track plots are refreshed as new information becomes available.
What you can find here

History
Terrapin hurricane tracking has been maintained for many years as a hurricane tracking and archive site. It preserves storm pages and supporting material so that systems can be viewed and compared during and after the season.
