For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America:
Western and Central Atlantic:
A gale-force, non-tropical low pressure area located a few hundred
miles south of Bermuda is producing disorganized convection.
Environmental conditions could allow this system to acquire some
subtropical characteristics during the next couple of days while it
moves slowly eastward over the western and central subtropical
Atlantic. By late this weekend, upper-level winds are forecast to
become unfavorable for further development. While a new non-
tropical low could form from the remnants of the current low or to
its east early next week, environmental conditions are unlikely to
support significant development of that system. Regardless,
gale-force winds are likely over parts of the central subtropical
Atlantic through the weekend. For more information, including Gale
Warnings, please see High Seas Forecasts issued by the National
Weather Service.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent.
