DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 900 AM CST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression
Eighteen-E was located near latitude 12.7 North, longitude 98.6
West. The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph
(7 km/h). A west-northwestward motion with an increase in forward
speed is expected during the next few days.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.
Steady strengthening is forecast during the next few days.  The
depression is expected to become a tropical storm later today, and
it is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday.
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).
 
 
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

SURF:  Swells generated by this system will begin affecting
portions of southern coast of Mexico during the next couple of
days.  These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and
rip current conditions.  Please consult products from your local
