DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located near latitude 21.9 North, longitude 123.4 West. Odalys is moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this motion is expected to prevail through this evening, followed by a sharp turn to the south-southeast by early next week. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts. Rapid weakening is forecast over the next few days, and Odalys is anticipated to become a post-tropical cyclone by Monday. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km).
