DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located
near latitude 19.1 North, longitude 123.7 West. Odalys is moving
toward the north near 5 mph (7 km/h), and this motion is expected to
continue through Saturday, followed by a turn toward the northeast
on Sunday. An eastward to southeastward motion is forecast early
next week.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 115 mph (185 km/h) with higher 
gusts. Odalys is a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson 
Hurricane Wind Scale. Weakening is forecast to continue through 
early next week.
 
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles
(220 km).
 
The estimated minimum central pressure is 951 mb (28.09 inches).
