DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 PM PDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located near latitude 17.1 North, longitude 124.2 West. Odalys is moving toward the east-northeast near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this general motion should continue through tonight. A gradual turn toward the northeast is expected Friday followed by a turn toward the north by the weekend. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 110 mph (175 km/h) with higher gusts. Some intensity fluctuations are possible during the next day or so, followed by weakening through the weekend. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km).
