DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 200 AM PDT (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Odalys was located near latitude 16.1 North, longitude 126.0 West. Odalys is moving toward the east-northeast near 8 mph (13 km/h). An east-northeastward motion at a slightly slower speed is expected for the next day or so, followed by a gradual turn toward the northeast and then north later this week. Maximum sustained winds are near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next day or so, followed by a weakening trend late this week. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km).
