DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was located near latitude 37.5 North, longitude 178.9 West. Lala is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h). A north-northwestward motion is expected through today, followed by a gradual turn toward the west-northwest tonight and Friday. On the forecast track, Lala is forecast to cross the International Date line in about 24 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Satellite imagery indicates that Lala is losing its associated shower and thunderstorms activity, and it is likely to become a post-tropical low this afternoon or tonight. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1000 mb (29.53 inches).
