DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Lala was located near latitude 36.1 North, longitude 178.3 West. Lala is moving toward the northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h), with a turn toward the north-northwest expected through Thursday. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Lala is forecast to become a post-tropical remnant low by Thursday night. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center. The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
