421 WTPZ45 KNHC 250231 TCDEP5 Tropical Depression Ten-E Discussion Number 2 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL EP102026 800 PM PDT Mon Aug 24 2026 The depression has not changed much over the past several hours, and it continues to maintain a small area of deep convection near the center. This system is tiny in comparison to Iselle, which is located about 400 miles to its north-northeast. The latest satellite intensity estimates generally support maintaining the initial wind speed at 30 kt. Slight strengthening is possible overnight, and the depression could briefly become a tropical storm. However, all of the models agree that this cyclone will be absorbed by Iselle on Tuesday. Based on the new guidance, the NHC forecast has moved up dissipation to 24 hours.
