DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 1100 AM HST (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Moke was located near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 161.8 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 16 mph (26 km/h), and this motion is expected to continue for the next day or two, taking the system farther away from the Hawaiian Islands. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is expected, and Moke is forecast to degenerate to a remnant low pressure area late today and dissipate on Tuesday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches). RAINFALL: Tropical Depression Moke is expected to produce isolated additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches through Monday across the Big Island and eastern Maui. This rainfall may produce areas of flash flooding for portions of the Big Island, including flood-prone and low-lying locations, as well as urban areas.
