968 ABPZ20 KNHC 191735 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 AM PDT Wed Aug 19 2026 For the eastern and central North Pacific east of 180 longitude: Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane Lala, located a few hundred miles southeast of Lisianski Island. Central Pacific (EP90): An area of low pressure located well to the east-southeast of the Hawaiian Islands is producing showers and thunderstorms that continue to show signs of organization. Environmental conditions appear favorable for further development of this system, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the next day or so as the system moves westward to west-northwestward at 10 to 15 mph and crosses into the Central Pacific. Interests in the Hawaiian Islands should closely monitor the progress of this system. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...high...90 percent. South-Southwest of Mexico: An area of low pressure is forecast to form several hundred miles south-southwest of the coast of southern Mexico around the end of the week.
