The following information is based on satellite\nimagery, weather observations, radar and meteorological analysis.\nBased on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through \n0430 UTC.\n...SPECIAL FEATURES...\nGales and Significant Swell N of Bahamas: A tight pressure \ngradient between a 1031 mb high pressure system over New England \nand a stationary front extending from S of Bermuda to a 1010 mb \nlow just N of western Cuba is supporting fresh to near gale-force\nNE winds and rough to very rough seas N of the front and W of the\nlow. Winds are reaching minimal gale force near 31N73W. Winds \nwill diminish tonight, with strong NE to E winds and rough to \nvery rough seas persisting N of 28N and W of 65W through Thu night\nas the low pressure moves southwestward and the front weakens. \nMariners are urged to remain alert to these dangerous marine \nconditions and take the necessary precautions to avoid these \naffected areas. \nPlease, see the latest NWS High Seas Forecast issued by the \nNational Hurricane Center at website \nhttps:www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/MIAHSFAT2.shtml for further details. \n...MONSOON TROUGH/ITCZ...\nThe monsoon trough reaches the Atlantic through the coast of\nAfrica near 14N17W and continues to 10N23W. The ITCZ extends from\n10N23W to 07N58W. Scattered moderate to isolated strong \nconvection is noted from 03N to 14N and E of 46W.\n...GULF OF AMERICA...\nA tight pressure gradient between a high pressure system over New\nEngland and a stationary front over the offshores NE of the \nBahamas support fresh to strong NE to E winds and rough seas in \nthe E Gulf. W of 90W, gentle to moderate winds and moderate seas \nare noted.\nFor the forecast, fresh to strong NE to E winds and rough seas in\nthe E Gulf will prevail into late this week. Winds and seas will \ngradually diminish into Sat as the ridge slides eastward. Another \nrobust high pressure system will reach New England late this \nweekend and early next week allowing winds and seas to increase in\nthe NE Gulf. Elsewhere, gentle to moderate winds and moderate \nseas will prevail into early next week. Looking ahead, expect \nfresh SE to S winds over much of the Gulf by Mon between high \npressure over the western Atlantic and a cold front moving through\nthe Southern Plains. \n...CARIBBEAN SEA...\nA weak pressure gradient is supporting gentle to moderate winds\nand slight to moderate seas. \nFor the forecast, moderate to locally fresh trade winds in the E \nCaribbean will continue over the next few days, gradually \nextending westward into the south-central Caribbean through the \nweek and into the upcoming weekend. \n...ATLANTIC OCEAN...\nPlease see the Special Features section above for information on\na Gale warning and significant swell causing very rough seas \nnorth of the Bahamas.\nAside from the conditions mentioned in the Special Features\nsection above, winds are moderate or weaker, with moderate seas.\nFor the forecast west of 55W, the tight pressure gradient between\na high pressure system over New England and a stationary front \nextending across the offshore zones N of 27N to a 1010 mb low in \nthe Florida Straits area of the Bahamas supports strong to gale- \nforce NE winds and rough to very rough seas north of the front. \nScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are occurring across \nthe offshores between 59W and 76W. Strong NE to E winds and rough \nto very rough seas will persist N of 27N and W of 65W through Thu \nnight as the low pressure moves southwestward and the front \nweakens. Looking ahead, weak low pressure will develop southwest \nof Bermuda by Fri, then lift northeastward and reinforce the \nfrontal boundary over the waters between the northern Bahamas and \nBermuda. Expect fresh to strong NE-E winds and seas to 11 ft N of \nthe front through early next week. \n", "title": "Atlantic Tropical Weather Discussion", "id": "1222833090222489602", "issued": "2026-10-29T06:15:00Z", "wmo": "AXNT20", "source": "NOAA/NWS National Hurricane Center, received via the National Weather Wire Service", "page": "https://hurricane.terrapin.com/text/1222833090222489602"}
