The following\ninformation is based on satellite imagery, weather observations,\nradar, and meteorological analysis.\nBased on 0600 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through\n0830 UTC.\n...SPECIAL FEATURES...\nThe upgraded Hurricane Rachel is centered near 17.6N 107.2W at \n30/0900 UTC, moving northwest at 9 kt. Estimated minimum central \npressure is 979 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 75 kt with \ngusts to 90 kt. Numerous moderate to scattered strong convection\nfrom 03N to 21N between 100W and 116W. Seas near the center are \nas high as 30 ft. On the forecast track, the center of Rachel is\nexpected to move away from mainland Mexico and south of the Baja\nCalifornia Peninsula through Thursday. Swells generated by \nRachel will affect the southwestern coast of Mexico during the \nnext couple of days and spread northward along the coast of west-\ncentral Mexico and the Baja California Peninsula through the end\nof the week. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening \nsurf and rip current conditions. Please consult products from \nyour local weather office for more details.\nTropical Depression Nineteen-E is centered near 13.6N 129.4W at\n30/0900 UTC, moving east-southeast at 8 kt.
