Nolo is \nmoving toward the west-northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h). Nolo is moving \nwest-northwestward across the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National \nMonument and is expected to turn westward overnight or early \nWednesday. A generally westward motion is expected through the \nlatter part of the week.\n \nMaximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/h) \nwith higher gusts. Further weakening is forecast over the next day \nor so, followed by some re-intensification during the latter part of \nthis week.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)\nfrom the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nWIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected within the Tropical \nStorm Warning area from Nihoa to French Frigate Shoals overnight \nthrough Wednesday. Tropical storm conditions are possible within the \nTropical Storm Watch area from French Frigate Shoals to Maro Reef by \nThursday.\n \nRAINFALL: Outer bands east of Nolo\u2019s track will produce 3 to 6 \ninches of rain across Kauai and Niihau through Thursday. This \nrainfall could produce areas of flooding and mudslides, especially \nin areas of steep terrain.\n \nFor a complete depiction of forecast rainfall associated with Nolo,\nplease see the National Weather Service Storm Total Rainfall Graphic\navailable at hurricanes.gov/graphics_cp2.shtml?rainqpf\n \nSURF: Swells generated by Nolo will affect south- and west-facing\nshores of the main Hawaiian Islands for the next few days. These\nswells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current\nconditions. Large surf associated with Nolo will continue to affect\nthe Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument over the next several\ndays. These large waves will likely inundate some of the low-lying\natolls, especially from French Frigate Shoals to Nihoa.
