Therefore, \nOdalys no longer meets the criteria of a tropical cyclone, and this \nis the last advisory on this system. A recent ASCAT-B pass from a \nfew hours ago showed peak winds between 35 and 40 kt, and based on \nthat data, the initial wind speed is lowered to 40 kt.\n \nStrong wind shear, dry air, and cool waters should cause continued\nweakening while the system turns southward or south-southwestward\nin the low-level flow. Dissipation is now shown by 72 hours, in\nagreement with all of the global model guidance.\n \nDistant moisture from both Odalys and Hurricane Polo will be\ntransported into the southwestern United States during the next few\ndays, and may indirectly contribute to a heavy rainfall and flash\nflooding in the region.
