The depression is moving toward the west-northwest near 5 mph\n(7 km/h). A west-northwestward motion with an increase in forward\nspeed is expected during the next few days.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.\nSteady strengthening is forecast during the next few days.  The\ndepression is expected to become a tropical storm later today, and\nit is forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nSURF:  Swells generated by this system will begin affecting\nportions of southern coast of Mexico during the next couple of\ndays.
