There has been no organized convection for more \nthan 18 h, and based on this it appears than Fay has degenerated to \na remnant low pressure area. There is a possibility of convective \nbursts occuring during the next few days. However, the cyclone will \nbe embedded in a dry air mass with strong upper-level convergence, \nand these factors should keep organized convection from \nre-developing.\n \nThe system is moving west-southwestward, or 240/8 kt, as it rounds \nthe eastern periphery of a low- to mid-level ridge to its west and \nnorthwest. A turn toward the west is expected over the next day or \ntwo as the ridge strengthens and builds eastward to the north of \nFay. A turn toward the west-northwest could occur before the remnant \nlow dissipates between 96-120 h.\n\nThis is the last advisory issued on Fay by the National Hurricane \nCenter.
