Polo is\nmoving toward the northeast near 5 mph (7 km/h).  A slow \neastward or southeastward motion is expected later today and \ntonight. However, a sharp turn toward the west-northwest or \nnorthwest is expected by late Tuesday. On the forecast track, the \ncore of Polo is expected to be near the coast of southwestern \nMexico during the next few days. \n \nMaximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) \nwith higher gusts. This rainfall may\nproduce life-threatening flooding and mudslides, especially in areas\nof steep terrain.
