Environmental conditions appear \nconducive for some gradual development by the weekend, and this \nsystem could become a tropical depression early next week while it \nmoves slowly northwestward or northward.\n* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.\n* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.\nGulf of California:\nShowers and thunderstorms have become a little better organized in \nassociation with a small area of low pressure that is moving \nnorth-northwestward over the central Gulf of California.  \nEnvironmental conditions are favorable for additional development \nbefore the system moves inland over the state of Sonora by midday \nWednesday.  Regardless of formation, periods of heavy rain and \nisolated flooding are possible over that state through Thursday.\n* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.\n* Formation chance through 7 days...low...30 percent.\nWestern East Pacific:\nA westward-moving tropical wave is producing disorganized showers \nand thunderstorms well to the south of the southern tip of the Baja \nCalifornia Peninsula.
