The depression is moving toward the west near 9 mph (15 km/h)\nand this generally westward motion should continue for the next\nseveral days with some increase in forward speed.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.\nSome slight strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and\nthe depression could become a tropical storm later today.
