The depression is moving toward the west-southwest near 9 mph \n(15 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue for the next \nseveral days with some gradual acceleration.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts.\nSome slight strengthening is forecast during the next 24 hours, and\nthe depression could become a tropical storm later today.
