Lowell is \nnow moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h). A general \nwestward motion is forecast for the next day or so. Then, the \nsystem's forward motion is expected to slow late this week as it \nturns back northwestward. \n \nMaximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) \nwith higher gusts.
