The following\ninformation is based on satellite imagery, weather observations,\nradar, and meteorological analysis.\nBased on 0000 UTC surface analysis and satellite imagery through\n0300 UTC.\n...SPECIAL FEATURES...\nTropical Storm Marie is centered near 24.2N 123.2W at 07/0300\nUTC, moving northwest at 5 kt. Estimated minimum central\npressure is 983 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 60 kt with\ngusts to 75 kt. Peak seas are to near 28 ft. Numerous moderate\nisolated strong convection is within 120 nm SE quadrant. \nScattered moderate convection is within 60 nm elsewhere of \ncenter, except 90 nm SW quadrant. Steady weakening is expected \nto continue for the next several days, and Marie is forecast to \nbecome a post-tropical remnant low Tuesday night or early \nWednesday. Swells generated by Marie will continue to affect \nportions of the coast of the Baja California Peninsula and \nsouthern California for the next couple of days. These swells are\nlikely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current \nconditions. Please consult products from your local weather \noffice. Seas within these winds are\n8 to 12 ft in southwest to west swell. Moderate or weaker winds \nand rough seas in southwest to west swell are over the rest of \nthe Baja California offshore waters. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are \naffecting much of the offshore waters of Central America and \nColombia, some of which may be accompanied by gusty winds and \nhigher seas.\nFor the forecast, high pressure north of the area will support \nmoderate to fresh easterly winds and moderate seas across the \nGulf of Papagayo region through the next several days.
