A gradual weakening \ntrend is expected to continue for the next several days. Swells \ngenerated by Marie will continue to affect portions of the coast \nof southwest Mexico, the Baja California Peninsula, and Southern \nCalifornia for the next few days. These swells are likely to \ncause life- threatening surf and rip current conditions. Please \nconsult products from your local weather office.\nPlease read the latest High Seas Forecast issued by the National\nHurricane Center at website - \nhttps://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/MIAHSFEP2.shtml and the latest \nMarie NHC Forecast/Advisory and Public Advisory at \nwww.hurricanes.gov for more details.\n \n...TROPICAL WAVES...\n \nA tropical wave is along 108W, extending from SW Mexico to 04N, \nmoving west at 5-10 kt. Scattered moderate to \nstrong convection is occurring from 00N to 15N and east of 111W \nand from 03N to 15N between 122W and 134W.\n...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF MEXICO...\nPlease see the Special Features section for information on \nHurricane Marie centered southwest of Baja California, Mexico.\nAway from the impacts of Hurricane Marie to the offshore waters\nof Baja California, moderate or weaker winds and slight to\nmoderate seas are evident across the remaining offshore waters \nof Mexico.\nFor the forecast, Hurricane Marie will move to 22.5N 121.2W this\nevening, weaken to a tropical storm near 23.3N 122.1W Sun \nmorning, 24.1N 123.1W Sun evening, 24.7N 124.2W Mon morning, \n25.4N 125.4W Mon evening, and 26.5N 126.5W Tue morning. Marie \nwill weaken to a tropical depression over 29.4N 128.1W by early \nWed. Elsewhere, moderate to fresh winds are expected to develop \nin the offshore waters of Baja California and N Gulf of \nCalifornia early next week as Marie moves away. Looking ahead, \nthe next gap wind event in the Gulf of Tehuantepec may occur by \nthe middle of next week.\n...OFFSHORE WATERS WITHIN 250 NM OF CENTRAL AMERICA, COLOMBIA, \nAND WITHIN 750 NM OF ECUADOR...\nHigh pressure centered north of the Caribbean Sea supports \nmoderate to fresh easterly trade winds and seas of 5-7 ft across\nthe Gulf of Papagayo region. Farther south, moderate to locally \nfresh southerly winds and moderate seas are found south of 04N. \nElsewhere, light to gentle winds and 2-4 ft seas prevail.\nScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms dot the waters off \nCentral America and Colombia, producing gusty winds and higher \nseas. \nFor the forecast, the subtropical ridge across the western\nAtlantic will sustain fresh E winds over the Gulf of Papagayo \ninto early next week. Thereafter, the gradient is expected to \ntighten resulting in strong gap winds and locally rough seas.\nMeanwhile, moderate to locally fresh southerly winds are \nexpected in the waters between Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands \nover the next several days, decreasing some Sun and Mon. \nElsewhere, moderate or lighter winds will prevail.\n...REMAINDER OF THE AREA...\nPlease see the Special Features section for information about\nHurricane Marie located southwest of Baja California, Mexico.\nAside from the impact of Hurricane Marie in the NE waters, fresh\nto strong cyclonic winds and rough to very rough seas are \noccurring from 18N to 28N and west of 136W associated with the \nouter eastern quadrant of Hurricane Karina that continues to move\naway from the eastern Pacific basin. Meanwhile in the eastern \nwaters, a cross equatorial southerly swell is producing seas to \n8 ft south of 08N and between 91W and 112W.
