The\ndepression is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph (7 km/h)\nand this motion is expected to continue before Edouard dissipates \non Thursday.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (35 km/h) with higher gusts.\nA gradual weakening of winds is expected to continue tonight.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 1011 mb (29.86 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Tropical Depression Edouard can be found in the\nTropical Cyclone Discussion under AWIPS header MIATCDAT5 and WMO\nheader WTNT45 KNHC.\n \nWIND: Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph may continue near the center of\nEdouard for the next several hours, with lower winds expected\novernight and Thursday.\n \nRAINFALL: Total rainfall along the path of Edouard is expected to \nrange from 5 to 10 inches, with maximum totals up to 22 inches for \ninland areas of east-central Texas. This rainfall is likely to \nproduce additional flash flooding, especially in low-lying and \nurban areas. Additional significant flash flooding is likely over \nthe Piney Woods area of eastern Texas.
