The system will continue to weaken as it\nmoves inland. We received several reports of 50-60+ MPH wind gusts\nacross our coastal areas, with the highest being a gust to 71 MPH\nat Texas Point shortly before landfall. The Hurricane Watch was\ndropped earlier and replaced with a Tropical Storm Warning, while\nthe Storm Surge Warning was replaced with a Coastal Flood Warning\nfor lower Jefferson and western Cameron Parishes, along with a\nCoastal Flood Advisory for southern Orange County, southern \nCalcasieu, and eastern Cameron Parishes. Given that the coastal \nthreat has not entirely materialized and the system is now moving \ninland, it is possible that the remaining coastal flood products \ncould be dropped over the next several hours.\n\n\nPOTENTIAL IMPACTS\n-----------------\n\n* FLOODING RAIN:\nPotential impacts from the flooding rain are still unfolding across \nSETX/SWLA. \n\nIf realized, these impacts include:\n    - Major rainfall flooding may prompt many evacuations and rescues.\n    - Rivers and tributaries may rapidly overflow their banks in \n      multiple places. Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may \n      become dangerous rivers. Flood control systems and barriers may \n      become stressed.\n    - Flood waters can enter many structures within multiple \n      communities, some structures becoming uninhabitable or washed \n      away. Many places where flood waters may cover escape routes. \n      Streets and parking lots become rivers of moving water with \n      underpasses submerged. Driving conditions become dangerous. \n      Many road and bridge closures with some weakened or washed out.\n\n* WIND:\nPotential impacts from the main wind event are now unfolding across \nSETX/SWLA. \n\nIf realized, these impacts include:\n    - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored \n      mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.\n    - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or \n      uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are \n      shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over.\n    - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban \n      or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on \n      bridges and other elevated roadways.\n    - Scattered power and communications outages.\n\nElsewhere across Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas, little to \nno impact is anticipated.\n\n* SURGE:\nLimited impacts from the main surge event are now unfolding across \nSETX. \n\nIf realized, these impacts include:\n    - Localized inundation with storm surge flooding mainly along \n      immediate shorelines and in low-lying spots, or in areas \n      farther inland near where higher surge waters move ashore.\n    - Sections of near-shore roads and parking lots become overspread \n      with surge water. Driving conditions dangerous in places where \n      surge water covers the road.\n    - Moderate beach erosion. Heavy surf also breaching dunes, mainly \n      in usually vulnerable locations. Strong rip currents.\n    - Minor to locally moderate damage to marinas, docks, boardwalks, \n      and piers. A few small craft broken away from moorings.\n\nElsewhere across Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas, little to \nno impact is anticipated.\n\n* TORNADOES:\nPotential impacts from tornadoes are still unfolding across Southwest \nLouisiana and Southeast Texas.\n \nIf realized, these impacts include:\n    - The occurrence of isolated tornadoes can hinder the execution \n      of emergency plans during tropical events.\n    - A few places may experience tornado damage, along with power \n      and communications disruptions.\n    - Locations could realize roofs peeled off buildings, chimneys \n      toppled, mobile homes pushed off foundations or overturned, \n      large tree tops and branches snapped off, shallow-rooted trees \n      knocked over, moving vehicles blown off roads, and boats pulled \n      from moorings.\n\nPRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS\n----------------------------------\n\n* EVACUATIONS:\nFollow the advice of local officials.\n\n\n* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:\n\nNow is the time to stay inside and away from windows.
