The initial intensity is held at 40 kt pending the next \nscatterometer overpasses, and this could be generous. Due to shear, \ndry air entrainment, and the cyclone being over cold water, the \nconvection should dissipate completely within the next 12 h and it \nis unlikely to return. Based on this, Lala is expected to become \npost-tropical by 12 h.\n\nThe initial motion is now 335/4 kt. A turn toward the west- \nnorthwest or northwest is expected during the next day or so as Lala \nbecomes embedded in the flow between a low-level ridge to the north \nand a western Pacific tropical cyclone approaching from the south. \nThis motion should continue until the system dissipates. The new \nforecast track is similar to, but a touch south of, the previous \ntrack.\n\n \nFORECAST POSITIONS AND MAX WINDS\n \nINIT  27/2100Z 37.5N 178.9W   40 KT  45 MPH\n 12H  28/0600Z 37.9N 179.4W   35 KT  40 MPH...POST-TROPICAL\n 24H  28/1800Z 38.3N 179.3E   30 KT  35 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 36H  29/0600Z 39.0N 177.6E   25 KT  30 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 48H  29/1800Z 40.6N 175.4E   20 KT  25 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 60H  30/0600Z...DISSIPATED\n \n"}
