However, ASCAT and OSCAT scatterometer data indicate that \nthe maximum winds remain near 40 kt.\n\nThe cyclone is moving northward or 350/4 kt.  A northwestward motion \nis expected for the next day or so, followed by a turn toward the \nwest-northwest as Lala becomes embedded in the flow between a \nlow-level ridge to the north and a western Pacific tropical cyclone \napproaching from the south. This motion should continue until the \nsystem dissipates. The new forecast track is similar to the previous \ntrack.\n\nA combination of cool sea surface temperatures, moderate shear, and \ndry air entrainment should cause Lala to weaken, and the cyclone is \nexpected to lose its organized convection and become post-tropical \nbetween 24-36 h. The remnants of Lala are forecast to weaken to a \ntrough between 60-72 h.\n \n \nFORECAST POSITIONS AND MAX WINDS\n \nINIT  27/1500Z 37.2N 178.6W   40 KT  45 MPH\n 12H  28/0000Z 37.7N 178.9W   35 KT  40 MPH\n 24H  28/1200Z 38.1N 179.8W   35 KT  40 MPH\n 36H  29/0000Z 38.7N 178.7E   30 KT  35 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 48H  29/1200Z 39.8N 176.7E   25 KT  30 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 60H  30/0000Z 41.9N 174.6E   20 KT  25 MPH...POST-TROP/REMNT LOW\n 72H  30/1200Z...DISSIPATED\n \n"}
