The storm continues to maintain moderate deep \nconvection in banding features  with a ragged eye-like feature near \nthe center.  The system is over sea surface temperatures of around \n25 deg C and there is apparently sufficient instability to allow \nthe cyclone to maintain its convection for the time being.  Lala's \ncurrent intensity is held at 55 kt in agreement with a Dvorak \nintensity estimate from PHFO Honolulu.  This is also a blend of \nobjective estimates from UW-CIMSS.\n \nThe current motion estimate is around 320/4 kt, about the same as \nearlier this morning.  Lala is embedded in a broad cyclonic flow \nwith fairly weak steering currents overall.  The system is still \nfairly well-removed from the faster deep-layer southwesterly flow \nat higher latitudes.  Therefore a continued slow motion is expected \nfor the next few days, although a mid level ridge could build a bit \nto the northeast of the system and possibly impart a slightly \nfaster forward speed.  The official forecast is a blend of the \ncorrected dynamical model consensus and the Google DeepMind \nforecast.  This is quite similar to the previous NHC track.\n\nLala is expected to pass over gradually cooling ocean waters during \nthe next several days.  This, along with a relatively dry low- to \nmid-level air mass, should result in slow weakening through the \nforecast period.
