Moke is\nmoving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h) and this\ngeneral motion is expected during the next several days. On the\nforecast track, the center of the storm is expected to pass south of\nthe Big Island of Hawaii tonight and early Sunday, then well south \nof the smaller main Hawaiian Islands early next week.\n \nMaximum sustained winds have increased to near 50 mph (85 km/h) \nwith higher gusts. Some additional strengthening is expected today, \nbut gradual weakening is forecast beginning Sunday.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles (185 km)\nfrom the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 994 mb (29.36 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Tropical Storm Moke can be found in the Tropical\nCyclone Discussion under AWIPS header HFOTCDCP3 and WMO header\nWTPA43 PHFO.\n \nWIND: Gusty winds are expected across the Hawaiian Islands tonight \nand Sunday, especially in areas of high terrain.\n \nRAINFALL: Moke is expected to produce rainfall totals of 5 to 10\ninches with maximum amounts of 15 inches across the Big Island.\nRainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches with maximum amounts of 4 inches\nare expected on eastern Maui. For the remainder of the islands, 1 to\n2 inches of rain are possible.
