Moke is\nmoving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h), and this \ngeneral motion is expected during the next couple of days. On the \nforecast track, the center of the storm is expected to pass south of \nthe Big Island of Hawaii this weekend, then south of the smaller \nmain Hawaiian Islands early next week.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.\nGradual strengthening is forecast over the next day or two.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)\nfrom the center.\n \nThe minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches) based on \ndata from a NOAA reconnaissance aircraft.\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Tropical Storm Moke can be found in the Tropical\nCyclone Discussion under AWIPS header HFOTCDCP3 and WMO header\nWTPA43 PHFO.\n \nWIND: Gusty winds are expected across the Hawaiian Islands this\nweekend, especially in areas of high terrain.\n \nRAINFALL: Moke is expected to produce rainfall totals of 5 to 10\ninches with maximum amounts of 15 inches across the Big Island.\nRainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches with maximum amounts of 4 inches\nare expected on eastern Maui. For the remainder of the islands, 1 to\n2 inches of rain are possible.
