Lala is \nmoving toward the west near 12 mph (19 km/h). A westward motion is \nforecast through Tuesday, followed by a turn toward the \nwest-northwest or northwest on Wednesday.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. \nFluctuations in intensity are possible over the next day or so. Some \nrestrengthening is expected thereafter, and Lala is forecast to \nbecome a hurricane again by Wednesday.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km)\nfrom the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nSURF: Large waves generated by Lala will continue to trend down from \neast to west across the Hawaiian waters, but life-threatening surf \nand rip current conditions will persist through today.
