Moisture trailing Lala to the east has been\nproducing isolated areas of flooding this afternoon on Maui, Oahu, and\nKauai, with many windward areas receiving 2 to 4 inches of rainfall.\nAdditional rain of generally 1 to 3 inches is expected, which can\nquickly result in flash flooding on saturated ground.\n\nRough east swell generated by Lala will maintain elevated this evening\nand will decline late tonight and Monday. \n\nPOTENTIAL IMPACTS\n-----------------\n\n* WIND:\nLittle to no wind impacts are anticipated at this time across the \nHawaiian islands.\n\n* SURGE:\nLittle to no surge impacts are anticipated at this time \nacross the Hawaiian islands.\n\n* FLOODING RAIN:\nAdditional impacts from flooding rain are still a concern from Maui to \nKauai. Remain well guarded against dangerous flood waters having \nfurther impacts of significant potential.\n\n* TORNADOES:\nLittle to no tornado impacts are anticipated at this time \nacross the Hawaiian islands.\n\nPRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS\n----------------------------------\n\n\n* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:\n\nDo not go sightseeing within impacted communities. Sightseers \ninterfere with the emergency work of first responders.\n\nWhen clearing out fallen trees, be careful with chainsaws and axes. \nAlways wear protective gear and keep others at a safe distance. \nLeaning trees and those which have fallen on roofs or power lines can \nbe especially dangerous. If you are not in good health or unsure \nabout what you are doing, have someone with tree cutting experience \ndo the job. Never cut trees without a partner.\n\nIf using a generator, avoid carbon monoxide poisoning by following \ninstructions provided by the manufacturer. Operate your generator in \na well-ventilated space outside of your living area and away from \nopen doors and windows.\n\nProblems with sewer backups can further contaminate standing flood \nwaters. Keep children away from flood waters. Also, listen for boil \nwater alerts as tap water may have become non-potable.\n\nBe alert for potential flooding from rising rivers and streams which \nmay have yet to crest.
