Lala is\nmoving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h). A westward motion is \nforecast through Tuesday, followed by a turn toward the \nwest-northwest on Wednesday.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher\ngusts. Little intensity change is expected over the next day or \ntwo. Some restrengthening is forecast thereafter, and Lala could \nbecome a hurricane again by Wednesday.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)\nfrom the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 997 mb (29.44 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Lala can be found in the Tropical Cyclone\nDiscussion under AWIPS header HFOTCDCP2 and WMO header WTPA42 PHFO.\n \nRAINFALL: Outer bands from Lala are expected to produce additional \nrainfall of 1 to 2 inches across windward portions of the Big Island \nand windward Maui. Across the remainder of the island chain, an \nadditional 2 to 4 inches of rainfall is expected, with isolated \nadditional totals around 6 inches.
