Fausto is\nmoving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h), and a \ngenerally west-northwestward motion is expected to continue for the \nnext few days.  On the forecast track, Fausto should pass north of \nthe Hawaiian Islands tonight through late Wednesday.\n \nMaximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) \nwith higher gusts.  Additional weakening is likely, and Fausto is \nexpected to become a tropical depression early on Wednesday, and a \nremnant low by late Wednesday.\n\nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km)\nto the northeast of the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Fausto can be found in the Tropical Cyclone\nDiscussion under AWIPS header HFOTCDCP1 and WMO header WTPA41 PHFO.\n \nSURF: Surf generated by Fausto will continue to build westward\nacross the Hawaiian Islands along exposed east-facing shores\nthrough tonight as Fausto approaches and begins to pass north of the\nislands.
