Fausto is \nmoving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h), and a generally \nwest-northwestward motion is expected to continue for the next \nseveral days. On the forecast track, Fausto should pass north of the \nHawaiian Islands tonight through late Wednesday.\n \nMaximum sustained winds are now near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher \ngusts. Weakening is forecast during the next couple of days, \nalthough Fausto is expected to remain a tropical storm as it passes \nnorth of the Hawaiian Islands.\n \nTropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km)\nmainly to the northeast of the center.\n \nThe estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches).\n \n \nHAZARDS AFFECTING LAND\n----------------------\nKey messages for Fausto can be found in the Tropical Cyclone\nDiscussion under AWIPS header HFOTCDCP1 and WMO header WTPA41 PHFO.\n \nSURF: Surf generated by Fausto will continue to build westward \nacross Hawaii along exposed east-facing shores through today as \nFausto approaches and begins to pass north of the islands.
