It's \nintensity has decreased, with peak winds upwards of 35 knots. Bertha \nwill continue to weaken, becoming a post-tropical system as it moves \nwestward tonight. No significant impacts to Southeast Texas are \nexpected at this time. Winds of 15-25 knots with gusts to 35 knots will\nbe possible, mainly along the coast and Gulf waters. Scattered showers\nand thunderstorms continue this evening. Heavy downpours are possible \nthough the flooding rain threat is very low. A high risk rip currents \nwill continue across the beaches and coast through Friday.\n\nPOTENTIAL IMPACTS\n-----------------\n\n* WIND:\nPotential impacts from the main wind event are now unfolding across \nSoutheast Texas. Remain well sheltered from hazardous wind having \npossible limited impacts. If realized, these impacts \ninclude:\n    - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored \n      mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.\n    - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or \n      uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are \n      shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over.\n    - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban \n      or heavily wooded places. Hazardous driving conditions on \n      bridges and other elevated roadways.\n    - Scattered power and communications outages.\n\n* FLOODING RAIN:\nPotential impacts from the flooding rain are still unfolding across \nthe Southeast Texas coast. Remain well guarded against locally \nhazardous flood waters having possible  limited \nimpacts. If realized, these impacts include:\n    - Localized rainfall flooding may prompt a few evacuations.\n    - Rivers and tributaries may quickly rise with swifter currents. \n      Small streams, creeks, canals, and ditches may become swollen \n      and overflow in spots.\n    - Flood waters can enter a few structures, especially in usually \n      vulnerable spots. A few places where rapid ponding of water \n      occurs at underpasses, low-lying spots, and poor drainage \n      areas. Several storm drains and retention ponds become \n      near-full and begin to overflow. Some brief road and bridge \n      closures. \n\nElsewhere across Southeast Texas, little to no impact is anticipated.\n\n* OTHER COASTAL HAZARDS:\nThere will be a high risk of rip currents across the upper Texas \ncoastal beaches through Friday.\n\nPRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS\n----------------------------------\n\n* EVACUATIONS:\nFollow the advice of local officials.\n\n\n* OTHER PREPAREDNESS INFORMATION:\n\nKeep your cell phone charged and in power-saving mode.
